Reefer Maintainer

Our Solar Reefer Battery Maintainer is a supplemental charging system
utilized to maintain battery charge and extend battery life.
This is proven to reduce downtime and maintenance costs
by providing continuous, uninterrupted battery power
to the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU).

This is IDEAL For:

• TRU’s with long “off” periods
• TRU’s running telematics or other loads wired directly to the reefer battery
• Protecting the TRU’s battery during extended alarm shutdown
• Extending the battery life and ensuring adequate start up power

This system will minimize the risk of:

• Call out Charges
  • As a result of a dead battery that needs replacement

• Battery Replacement Costs
  • A battery with a 50% depth of discharge (DOD) will last more than twice as long as a battery at 80% DOD
    • Reefer Solar Solution will ensure a minimum of 50% DOD
  • Parasitic loads may cause sulfation on battery plates, resulting in more frequent replacements

• Higher Fuel and Maintenance Costs
  • Running the reefer to solely recharge the battery incurs fuel costs and increased hours on reefer parts

• Load/Product Loss due to Dead or Weak Batteries
  • Non-reefer loads (telematics, standby operating current, trailer lights) may drain the battery below the point where it can restart the reefer
